Arles Image Web Page Creator 8.1 released
The all new Arles 8.1 version has improved thumbnail info text support and theme support.
Theme support
By default Arles now has a aluminum look due to the new theme or skinning support. If you prefer something else, you can select one of the predefined themes from the Tools menu > Theme. Or you can revert back to the standard Windows look by selecting the Default theme.
Improved thumbnail info text support
Arles 8.0 first introduced thumbnail texts. It allows you to show any image info, titles, EXIF or IPTC fields next to your thumbnails. In version 8.1 we have improved this feature.
One of the limitations was that you could only define one single text. If you wanted to see the titles at one time and EXIF info at another you have to manually edit the image text definition. In Arles 8.1 you can define as many image texts as you want and quickly switch between them.
In the Arles Image Explorer click the Layout button toolbar button and select Thumbnail Info > Select.
The editor also received an overhaul. The left side now shows all created image texts. On the right side you can edit the content. Click the Add Tag at the top right to insert any tag which will be replaced for each image.
In the thumbnail viewer there is also a small button marked by the character "i" which you can click to switch info texts on or off.
Improved sidebar
The sidebar also had a makeover. Bookmarks and Folder views now both have full length views more in the style that modern web browsers do. You can click the sidebar caption to switch between them. Or use the keyboard shortcuts. Ctrl+B for the bookmarks and Ctrl+F for the folders view. New is also that you can fully hide the sidebar if you prefer to use all the space for your thumbnails.
New thumbnail cache system
The thumbnail cache system has been rewritten and takes
advantage of a modern SQLite database. This will make the thumbnail
cache faster. Which is best noted when viewing folders with many images.

- Interface theming support: By default the Aluminum theme is selected, but you select other themes or the default Windows theme in the Image Explorer Tools menu > Theme.
- Updated Full screen viewer window. Selected checkbox is at the top. The edit area now shows a single title type and hides automatically in the full screen mode.
- New Thumbnail Info "Select" menu item to quickly select another thumbnail info template.

- Fixed: Undoing title changes by hitting Escape sometimes reset the title to a title from another image.

- Fixed: Images rotation info is no longer stored in de database if the rotation info is already stored in the EXIF section of the file itself.
- Fixed: An access violation was sometimes shown when switching quickly between folders.
